What is it?
Dosage Form: Suppository Active Ingredient: Indomethacin Indications for Use: Use strictly as prescribed by a doctor to avoid complications! Indomethacin suppositories 50 mg are used for: Acute arthritis of various origins (including gouty); Chronic arthritis, especially rheumatoid arthritis (chronic polyarthritis); Ankylosing spondylitis (Bechterew's disease) and other inflammatory-rheumatic diseases of the spine; Arthrosis and spondyloarthrosis (inflammatory condition in degenerative diseases of joints and spine); Rheumatism of soft tissues; Painful swelling and inflammation after trauma and surgical interventions (general surgical, gynecological, dental, etc.). Contraindications: Indomethacin is contraindicated in: Known hypersensitivity to indomethacin, aspirin, or other NSAIDs (history of bronchospasm, urticaria, or rhinitis caused by acetylsalicylic acid); Proctitis and rectal bleeding of various origins; Peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and/or intestines in the exacerbation phase; Pregnancy and lactation; Children (under 14 years of age). Indomethacin use requires special attention from a doctor in patients with: Gastrointestinal diseases and/or inflammatory-ulcerative diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease) in history; Chronic heart failure; Arterial hypertension; Disorders of the blood coagulation system; Impaired liver and/or kidney function; Elderly age; Immediately after major surgery. Caution is required when prescribing indomethacin to patients suffering from mental disorders, depression, parkinsonism, epilepsy. With great caution and under direct medical supervision, indomethacin can be used in patients suffering from asthma, allergic rhinitis, nasal polyps, as well as chronic respiratory tract infections in patients with hypersensitivity to NSAIDs due to the risk of asthma attacks, Quincke's edema, or urticaria. Method of Administration and Dosage: Dosage and duration of treatment are determined by the attending physician based on the course of the disease and the severity of the condition. Suppositories are inserted into the rectum as deeply as possible after bowel cleansing. Usually, adults are prescribed one 50 mg suppository twice daily. Children over 14 years of age: 1.5-2.3 mg/kg body weight per day. Storage Conditions: In a dry, light-protected place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Suppositories should be stored in the original packaging. The medicine cannot be used after its expiry date. Keep out of reach of children! Dispensing Conditions: By prescription only
