Properties

What is it?

Composition: 1ml of the preparation contains: active substance: sodium cromoglicate 40mg; excipients: benzalkonium chloride, disodium edetate, polysorbate 80, sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid, water for injection. Indications for use: allergic conjunctivitis (acute, chronic, vernal); allergic keratitis and keratoconjunctivitis; "dry eye" syndrome; eye strain and fatigue caused by allergic reactions (environmental factors, occupational hazards, household chemicals, cosmetics, ophthalmological preparations, plants, and pets). Contraindications: hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Side effects: temporary burning and visual impairment, conjunctival hyperemia and edema, lacrimation, foreign body sensation in the eye, dryness around the eye. If any of the side effects occur, including those not listed in this instruction, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Method of administration and dosage: For adults and children, 1-2 drops of 4% solution in both eyes 4-6 times a day, at equal intervals (after achieving clinical effects, the interval should be gradually increased). Overdose: There is no data on overdose of the preparation. Interaction with other medicinal products: Reduces the need for ophthalmological agents containing glucocorticosteroids. Special instructions: Aikrol is used only topically. If conjunctival hyperemia increases or persists for a long time after using eye drops, the use of the preparation should be discontinued and medical advice should be sought. In case of contact lens use, they should be removed before instillation, and lenses can be inserted only 15-20 minutes after instillation of the preparation. The patient should avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent microbial contamination of the contents. The bottle must be closed after each use. The dropper must not touch the eye. Effect on ability to drive and operate machinery: Immediately after instillation, a decrease in visual acuity may occur, which can make driving or operating machinery difficult. Use in pediatrics: The efficacy and safety of Aikrol use in children under 4 years of age have not been studied. Use during pregnancy and lactation: During pregnancy, the use of the preparation is possible if the expected therapeutic effect outweighs the potential risk of side effects. If used during lactation, breastfeeding should be discontinued. Dosage form: Eye drops in a 10ml dropper bottle with a screw cap and a tamper-evident ring. The dropper bottle is placed in a cardboard box with an insert. Storage conditions: Store at a temperature not exceeding 25C, protected from light and out of reach of children! After opening the bottle, the preparation can be used for one month. Dispensing from pharmacy: Pharmaceutical product group III, available without a prescription.
