Dikloron is a semi-solid preparation in gel form with a spirit odor, containing diclofenac diethylammonium as the active substance. Dikloron belongs to the group of medicines called topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It is intended for external use only. Dikloron is available in 50 g tubes. Dikloron for adolescents: - Used for sprains, bruises, and pain. - Used for inflammation of soft tissues. - Used for rheumatism. 2. Precautions before using Dikloron Do not use Dikloron in the following cases: - If you are allergic to diclofenac or any of the excipients in Dikloron (see list of excipients). - If you have wheezing or shortness of breath (asthma attack, rash with fluid-filled blisters or hives, or runny nose) due to acetylsalicylic acid (painkiller) or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen. - It is not recommended to use this medicine during pregnancy (especially in the last 3 months). - Do not apply Dikloron to open wounds or damaged skin, rashes, or eczema. - It is not recommended for children and adolescents under 14 years of age. Take special care with Dikloron in the following cases: - Use with great caution for widespread or long-term treatment. - Dikloron is for external use only. - Avoid getting Dikloron in your eyes. If it gets into your eyes, rinse them with clean water. If discomfort persists, consult your doctor or pharmacist. - Avoid exposure to sunlight while using Dikloron. - If a rash appears on your skin, stop using the medicine. - Dikloron can be used with non-occlusive bandages; airtight occlusive bandages should not be used. If any of these warnings applied to you in the past, consult your doctor for advice. Taking Dikloron with food and drink Dikloron has no effect when taken with food and drink. Pregnancy Consult your doctor or pharmacist for advice before starting to use this medicine. It is forbidden to take Dikloron during pregnancy, especially during the first three months. If you find out you are pregnant during treatment, consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately. Breastfeeding Consult your doctor or pharmacist for advice before starting to use this medicine. Breastfeeding is not recommended when using Dikloron. Prolonged use or application to the breast without your doctor's prescription is not allowed. Driving and operating machinery Dikloron has no adverse effect on the ability to drive and operate machinery. Information about some excipients in Dikloron: Dikloron contains methylparaben. It may cause allergic reactions (likely delayed). Use with other medicines If you are taking or have recently taken any medicines, including those obtained without a prescription, tell your doctor or pharmacist. 3. How to use Dikloron: Instructions for correct use and dosage/frequency of use: Adolescents: Dikloron should be applied to the skin 3-4 times a day. The amount of medicine needed depends on the size of the painful area. For example: 2-4 grams of Dikloron (the size of a cherry or walnut) is sufficient for treating an area of approximately 2-2.5 cm in diameter. Without a doctor's prescription, it is not recommended to use Dikloron for more than 2 weeks for muscle and joint pain (injury, bruise) or tendinitis, and for more than 3 weeks for arthritis. If pain and swelling continue after 7 days of use, consult your doctor. Method and route of administration: Gently rub the medicine into the painful or swollen area. You will feel a cooling sensation during application. Wash your hands after application (unless you are treating your hands). Different age groups: Use in childhood: Dikloron is not recommended for children under 14 years of age. For children over 14 years of age, if pain persists for more than 7 days or symptoms worsen, consult a doctor. Use in the elderly: Elderly individuals can use the recommended dose of Dikloron. Special cases of use: Kidney failure: Dose adjustment is not necessary for patients with kidney or liver failure. If you notice that Dikloron has a very strong or weak effect, inform your doctor or pharmacist. If you take more Dikloron than you should: If you take more Dikloron than you should, consult your doctor or pharmacist for advice. If you forget to take Dikloron: If you forget to take Dikloron, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. 4. What are the possible side effects? Like all medicines, some patients may experience side effects due to the substances contained in Dikloron. If any of the following side effects occur, stop using Dikloron and inform your doctor or go to the emergency department of the nearest hospital: - Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and throat (angioedema). - Rash with fluid-filled blisters or hives. - Wheezing or shortness of breath or chest tightness (asthma). All of the above symptoms are very serious side effects. If any of these side effects occur, it indicates that you have a serious allergy to Dikloron. In this case, urgent medical intervention or hospitalization may be necessary. These side effects are very rare. Side effects are divided into the following categories: Very common: Affects at least 1 in 10 patients. Common: Affects less than 1 in 10 patients, but more than 1 in 100 patients. Uncommon: Affects less than 1 in 100 patients, but more than 1 in 1,000 patients. Rare: Affects less than 1 in 1,000 patients, but more than 1 in 10,000 patients. Very rare: Affects less than 1 in 10,000 patients. Unknown: Cannot be determined based on available information. If any of the following side effects occur, consult your doctor or the emergency department of the nearest hospital immediately: Common: - Skin disease (inflammation, eczema). - Rash. - Dermatitis (including contact dermatitis). Rare: - Skin disease with fluid-filled blisters (bullous dermatitis). If any of the following side effects occur, consult your doctor immediately: Common: - Itching. - Redness (erythema). Very rare: - Photosensitivity. Reporting of side effects: If you experience any side effects not mentioned in this leaflet, consult your doctor or pharmacist for advice. By reporting side effects, you can help provide more information about the safety of this medicine. 5. How to store Dikloron: Store Dikloron out of reach of children in its original packaging. Store below 25°C. Use the medicine by the expiry date. Do not use COLASTIN-L after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
