FURO-DENK TABLET 40MG Composition: Each film-coated tablet contains 40mg of furosemide. Other substances are: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, magnesium stearate, crospovidone, microcrystalline cellulose, macrogol 6000, cellulose powder, colloidal anhydrous silica, croscarmellose sodium. Indication: Edema (fluid retention in tissues) associated with heart failure or liver disease; Edema associated with kidney disease (in nephrotic syndrome [protein loss, lipid disorders, water accumulation], treatment of the underlying condition is paramount); Fluid accumulation in tissues (edema associated with burns); High blood pressure (arterial hypertension) Dosage: This medication should always be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are unsure about anything, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Dosage is determined individually, specifically according to the patient's response to therapy. To achieve the desired effect, the minimum necessary dose should always be used. The recommended dosage is as follows: Edema associated with heart failure or liver disease: The usual starting dose for adults is 1 tablet of FURO-DENK 40 (equivalent to 40mg furosemide) as a single dose. If the diuretic effect is unsatisfactory, the single dose can be increased to 2 tablets of FURO-DENK 40 (equivalent to 80mg furosemide) after 6 hours. If the diuretic effect is still inadequate, an additional 4 tablets of FURO-DENK 40 (equivalent to 160mg furosemide) may be administered after 6 hours. If necessary, starting doses of more than 200mg furosemide may be administered in individual cases under careful clinical observation. The usual maintenance dose is 1-2 tablets of FURO-DENK 40 per day (equivalent to 40mg – 80mg furosemide). Weight loss due to increased urine output (diuresis) should not exceed 1 kg/day. Edema associated with kidney disease: The usual starting dose for adults is 1 tablet of FURO-DENK 40 in the morning (equivalent to 40mg furosemide) as a single dose. If the diuretic effect is satisfactory, the single dose can be increased to 2 tablets of FURO-DENK 40 (equivalent to 80mg furosemide) after 6 hours. If urine output remains insufficient, an additional 4 tablets of FURO-DENK 40 (equivalent to 160mg furosemide) may be administered after 6 hours. If necessary, starting doses of more than 200mg furosemide may be administered in individual cases under careful clinical supervision. The usual maintenance dose is 1-2 tablets of FURO-DENK 40 per day (equivalent to 40mg – 80mg furosemide). Weight loss due to increased urine output should not exceed 1 kg/day. In nephrotic syndrome, the dosage regimen should be chosen carefully, as there is a risk of increased drug side effects. Edema associated with burns: The daily and/or single dose can range from 1 to 2 tablets of FURO-DENK 40 (equivalent to 40mg – 100mg furosemide). In exceptional cases, such as impaired kidney function, up to 6 tablets of FURO-DENK 40 (equivalent to 240mg furosemide) may be prescribed. Vascular fluid deficit must be compensated with furosemide before starting treatment. Intravascular hypovolemia must be compensated before use. High blood pressure (arterial hypertension): The usual daily dose is 1 tablet of FURO-DENK 40 (equivalent to 40mg furosemide) as monotherapy or in combination with other drugs. Use in children: The usual daily dose of furosemide in pediatric patients is 1 (up to 2) mg/kg body weight of furosemide. However, it should not exceed a maximum of 40mg furosemide per day. Method of administration: The tablets should be taken on an empty stomach and swallowed whole with a sufficient amount of liquid (e.g., 1 glass of water). The duration of treatment will be decided by the doctor. It depends on the type and severity of the disease. Pregnancy and lactation: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. Pregnancy: FURO-DENK 40 should not be taken during pregnancy unless considered absolutely necessary by the treating physician, as the active substance furosemide crosses the placenta. Lactation: Furosemide passes into breast milk and inhibits lactation. Treatment with FURO-DENK 40 is not recommended for breastfeeding women. If necessary, the mother should stop breastfeeding. Driving and operating machinery: Even when used correctly, this medication can alter your ability to react to such an extent that your ability to drive a vehicle, operate machinery, or work without safety precautions is impaired. This is particularly true at the beginning of treatment, when the dose is increased and the medication is changed, as well as in combination with alcohol. Storage: Keep the medicine out of reach of children. Store below 25°C in a dry place. Store in the original packaging to protect from light.
