What is it?
Name - Ketorolac Bene Farm IV IM Solution for Injection 30mg/1ml Ampoule Indications Ketorolac-Grindeks solution for injection contains ketorolac tromethamine (hereinafter referred to as ketorolac). Ketorolac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with a strong analgesic effect. It is used for short-term treatment of moderate to severe pain after surgery. Treatment can only be initiated in a hospital. The maximum duration of treatment with the drug is 2 days. Dosage and Administration Treatment with Ketorolac-Grindeks is prescribed and monitored by a doctor. Treatment is usually initiated in a hospital. Ketorolac will be administered by a doctor or nurse. The drug can be administered intramuscularly or intravenously. When administered intravenously, the injection should last at least 15 seconds; intramuscularly, the drug should be injected slowly and deeply into the muscle. To reduce the risk of undesirable side effects, the doctor will prescribe the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible period necessary to control symptoms. Adults The recommended initial dose is 10 mg. If necessary, the drug can be continued at doses of 10-30 mg every 4-6 hours, depending on the intensity of pain. After surgery, the drug can be administered every 2 hours. For very severe pain, the initial dose may be 30 mg. The doctor will always prescribe the lowest effective dose. In adults with normal kidney function and a body weight of at least 50 kg, the maximum daily dose should not exceed 90 mg. In elderly patients, patients with mild renal impairment, and patients with a body weight less than 50 kg, the maximum daily dose should not exceed 60 mg (see below). If the pain is very severe, the doctor may also prescribe other analgesics (e.g., pethidine, morphine). For patients who have received ketorolac injections and are switched to oral administration of this drug, the total combined daily dose should not exceed 90 mg (60 mg for elderly patients, patients with mild renal impairment, and patients with a body weight less than 50 kg). When changing the dosage form, the dose of the orally administered drug should not exceed 40 mg. It is recommended to switch to oral administration of the drug as soon as possible. Treatment with ketorolac is discontinued as soon as the desired analgesic effect is achieved. Children and Adolescents There is insufficient information on the safety and efficacy of ketorolac in children, so this drug should not be used in children under 16 years of age (see When Ketorolac-Grindeks should not be used). In adolescents aged 16 to 18 years, ketorolac is used in the same way as in adults.
